MAB / OPERATING MODEL
A common view.
A clearer improvement agenda.
Establishing a shared structure for business capability assessment.
Establishing a common approach to business capability assessment
Growth across Mortgage Advice Bureau and its invested businesses had created different systems, processes and ways of operating. The group needed a common way to understand capability gaps and decide where improvement effort should go.
Fit for Future brought those questions into a structured assessment programme across functions and businesses.
Our contribution
Our work included coordinating the programme and supporting the assessment approach. A shared capability library and maturity scale gave workstreams a common starting point, while facilitated discussions helped teams interpret the questions and identify relevant evidence.
The work examined how activity operated across organisational boundaries, where consistency would add value and where local arrangements needed to be understood on their own terms.
What the programme established
The programme created a common structure, mobilised workstreams and began building an evidence base for improvement. Assessment depth and progress varied, with further prioritisation and mobilisation remaining at handover.
The useful output was a clearer basis for discussing operating capability and the changes worth pursuing.
The delivery lesson
An assessment needs a route into decisions and ownership. The value comes from understanding the business consequence of a gap and agreeing what to do about it.
Leanpro applies that principle when supporting operating-model reviews and practical business improvement.
